Control panel building
Design and installation
Many technical installations require a control panel and FMJ is the right partner to provide this. We make panels for non-residential, industrial, pharmaceutical and offshore installations and more. We can supply and install the panel based on drawings provided, or we can completely custom design the panel. We are also available for maintenance, assistance in the event of faults or other issues, and for modifications and upgrades to existing control panels.
Heavy duty panels
In many of the markets in which FMJ is active, the control panels and the enclosures have to be able to take a beating. It’s with this in mind that we also design and build enclosures and control panels specifically for more punishing conditions. These are enclosures made of sheet steel or coated stainless steel 316 and that are watertight on two levels.
Why opt for FMJ?
FMJ supplies control panels with a short delivery time. Because we have control over all aspects and so can act quickly, we can sometimes shorten the delivery time by months. Speed never comes at the expense of quality however. We test our products extensively so that we can be sure that everything that leaves our workshop is faultless. And because we also have a lot of experience in the environments in which the enclosures and control panels will be installed, we can provide expert advice and think along with you when it comes to devising the most efficient and effective design.

Crane control systems
Electrical engineering and instrumentation
We build completely new crane control systems using a hydraulic system from our partners. We can also retrofit and upgrade existing systems to client specifications. For example, we can upgrade excavators so that they can move with millimeter precision and can also be used underwater. Quality, user-friendliness and client satisfaction: that’s what it’s all about for us.
Automation and fully automated overhead cranes
Via the operating system we can automate tasks or even have the crane perform it completely independently. With fully automated overhead cranes, work can be done differently and more efficiently, for example in situations where materials have to be moved from one room to another.
To enable full automation, we equip the crane with laser line scanners that create a 3D map of the space it operates in and of the material, and a PLC to process the data from the scanners. The result is a crane that can operate independently (without a manual operator), controlled remotely from a central control room.
Maintenance and call out service
We place high demands on our work and we build systems that save you money across the board. Our systems meet the required SIL or performance level classifications so you can be sure that you can enjoy our crane control systems for a long time to come. That said, things can still go wrong and, if they do, you can call on us for emergency repairs. FMJ is naturally also available for annual maintenance too.
Why opt for FMJ?
Our preferred approach is to adapt used and new cranes to meet specific requirements. Then we can do what we are best at: designing a custom control system, taking into account all the required features and options. We are brand-agnostic, meaning you get the equipment and components with the best fit for your company and operations.
Another advantage of FMJ is that we also design and assimilate sensors ourselves. This way we can ensure that they are suitable for the harsh conditions in which they will operate. We bring every detail of the system in line with the purpose of the crane.

Electrical engineering
FMJ is your partner for direct current (DC), low voltage alternating current (AC) and high voltage (HV).
Advice and engineering
FMJ examines what is required in terms of power distribution, cabling, switches, and groups in every industrial environment. Our engineers ensure that the power is distributed correctly and sufficient power is available for all the installations. We make sure everything is safe by taking into account the conditions under which an installation may or may not be operated, based on NEN 1010, NEN 3140, NEN 3840 and ATEX. In the event of an unexpected short circuit, everything shuts down as quickly as possible, but never more than necessary.
Connecting, installing and testing
We build industrial electrical installations from scratch, including cable pathways and redundant cable pathways. Before commissioning we test the entire system so that we know for sure that all cables are in the right location and that everything comes in where it is expected.
Service and maintenance
We offer various options for service and maintenance. Our technicians can join your technical department so that they are permanently at your disposal. You can also opt for monthly maintenance checks or assistance in the event of an outage or other emergency situation. We adapt our service level to your needs and to the requirements in your industry.
Why opt for FMJ?
FMJ is always ready to think along with you to find the most efficient and cost-effective solution. Adding value is something that comes naturally to us, something we really enjoy. We take the long term into account and ensure that the investments in your company or plant are sustainable.

Engineering
Engineering
FMJ provides a wide range of engineering services, from feasibility studies and concept development to turnkey delivery of installations. We also take care of storing and updating the engineering design package (technical drawings and documentation) for your existing installation.
With a good engineering design package, the manufacture, maintenance and management of your installation can be greatly simplified, making any faults that may arise easier and faster to pinpoint. Higher uptime of your installation will often more than justify the extra investment.
Our engineers and technicians have years of experience and the knowledge needed to transform client’s needs and wishes into solutions. From a control box or control system all the way up to a full refurbishment, refit or new build, our engineering department can handle it. We stay abreast of the various regulations in the industry such as those maintained by NEN, KEMA, Borg, Lloyd’s Register, DNV, ABS, the Dutch shipping inspectorate, etc. As standard we work with AutoCAD or EPLAN, we carry out short circuit calculations and determine selectivity using Phase to Phase’s Vision package.

Home and building automation
In the area of home and building automation, we carry out work for installers, facility service providers, institutions like museums and schools, and individual clients. After first discussing the required features and functions with the client, we can engineer, supply, install and maintain a complete home or building automation project.
Smart buildings
With home automation FMJ can make lighting, HVAC, fans, sun blinds and all sorts of other components ‘smart’. For example, based on scenes (linked preconfigured settings) you can turn off all the lights and close all the windows and/or blinds at the tap of a button. This automation goes beyond integrating technology and services in a home or building: it encompasses systems outside the premises too, like security systems (alarms and cameras) for example.
From start to finish
We can carry out home or building automation projects from start to finish. We can supply the sensors to measure parameters like interior air quality and humidity and set up the system in such a way that the signals will relay a command to close the windows, for example. We configure the communication between the sensors and the PLCs. Naturally, we also consider the aesthetics of it all. We provide a beautiful finish, using the finely crafted Basalte switches for example.

Inspection and calibration
Inspection and Calibration
Safe and reliable: that’s what your electrical installation needs to be. Being able to rely on your installation is important for your company and for you personally. Inspections are an important factor in ensuring this. It’s with good reason that inspections are increasingly being made mandatory under the Dutch Working Conditions Act and by insurers too. FMJ offers every kind of electrical safety inspection as well as ATEX (equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres) inspections. Our technicians are skilled, have a broad knowledge base and carry out inspections in all markets, from industry and offshore to home inspections.
In addition to inspections we also perform calibrations. As a company you want your instruments to function properly and, above all, to be reliable; this is important for the safety, continuity and quality of the process and project. Calibrations are also increasingly being made mandatory by government authorities and clients. Our skilled employees with a broad knowledge of the business carry out calibrations in our workshop and on location throughout The Netherlands and abroad.
